Rain Forest Mosses 1 - a photo on Flickriver

            In Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park on Kodiak Island, Alaska, trees hang heavy with mosses where they are part of a coastal temperate rain forest.

Fort Abercrombie was established at this site in World War II because it overlooks the Gulf of Alaska from high bluffs. The Fort was abandoned when the war ended after having seen no military action.
