The Moon - 2021-09-25-08:06 UTC - Crater Plinius

            This scene is centered on southern Mare Tranquillitatis and northern Mare Serenetatis. The Taurus-Littrow Valley, the Apollo 17 landing site, is seen at left of center. Crater Plinius is the prominent crater situated just below center. Just above it are two thin horizontal features known as Rimae Plinius. And just above that the the lighter Mare Tranquillitatus meets the darker surface of Mare Serenetatis. Several other rimae and dorsa can bee seen in this image.
