I had accompanied my family to Alipore Zoo last Saturday. It was a huge fun with my family. My 3 years old daughter was very happy to all these beautiful animals.

Starting today I will be sharing the photos taken is Alipore Zoological Garden. Starting the Series with one of the animal who has unmatched elegance and is gradually fading away.

The Alipore Zoological Gardens (also informally called the Alipore Zoo, Calcutta Zoo or Kolkata Zoo) is India's oldest formally stated zoological park (as opposed to royal and British menageries) and a big tourist attraction in Kolkata, West Bengal. It has been open as a zoo since 1876, and covers 45 acres (18 ha). It is probably best known as the home of the now expired Aldabra Giant Tortoise Adwaita, which was reputed to have been over 250 years old when it died. I did not see Adwaita this time as he has left us. I still remember him when I saw him as a kid.
