13 - Don Jayaweera_Potential Strategic Policy Intervention on Managing Deteriorating Air Pollution from Transport Sector Resulted in Economic and Political Crisis Emerged at The Post Covid-19 and Ukraine War

            This research was undertaken in Sri Lanka compiling all related literature and the reviews on the transport sector with respect to inland passenger and freight transportation during last five years giving special attention to the year 2019 when Sri Lanka experienced with social disruption with several bomb explosions in several locations of the Island, policy implementations on importation restriction for all categories of road motor vehicles from 2020, global and local impacts from Covid-19, impacts due to the Ukraine and Russian war and global economic rescissions to provide comprehensive inputs for the policy framing in order to manage the air pollution generated from the transport sector at an optimal level within the recovery of crisis economy in Sri Lanka. This is identified as important because Pakistan, Bangladesh and some other South Asian countries are also experiencing similar situations to some extent.
