The viaduct at St Germans, Cornwall - a photo on Flickriver

            The south-east of Cornwall has several rivers and creeks leading into the Tamar estuary, including the River Tiddy. When Brunel built the Great Western Railway in the second half of the 19th century all these rivers had to be crossed by viaducts in order that the line could connect Cornwall with Plymouth. The viaduct at St Germans dates from 1908 and replaced an earlier one built in 1855. 

The St Germans Yacht Club is based nearby at St Germans Quay, which is just out of shot to the left.
