At the top of Haselbech Hill, Northamptonshire

            The tiny village of Haselbech sits on the top of Haselbech Hill in the north-west of Northamptonshire, and is the site of a medieval settlement near the 12th century church. Lying at the bottom of the hill is the Cottesbrooke Estate, with Cottesbrooke Hall at the centre. This part of Northamptonshire is undulating with beautiful countryside, and several small reservoirs in the valleys. The site of the Battle of Naseby, which in effect was the deciding battle of the English Civil War, is about three miles to the north-west.
