Bridge Trio - a photo on Flickriver

I came across this view on my bike earlier in the year. It is from the dike in Pitt Meadows just north of the Pitt River Bridge. This is my second attempt at this shot. The first time out I did not bring a ladder.

I brought a 7 foot step ladder this trip, but I probably should have brought an 11. I was standing on that step that says This is not a step to get the right height. It is pretty shaky up that high though.

There are some more improvements I will need to try later. A dark smokey sky to the south behind the Port Mann Bridge would be good. I like this morning light, but I was a bit late, so the supports on the Pitt River Bridge are leaving the cables in their shadow. There there are those trees. I really only care about the two that are blocking the rail bridge (one was cloned out, but it is a rough job).

I still do not have my Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 fixed, so I am using my old Tamron. It does a decent job, but it is really not as sharp.

This a composite of six images processed using Photomatix Pro 4.1 to get the clouds to pop a bit; otherwise it is pretty natural. Some additional clean up and noise reduction was done in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5.
