Pat's Field Work Term - a photo on Flickriver

            “I am spending my Field Work Term in Providence, RI with my fiancée who is a graduate student at Brown. I have been interning at Brown's Cardiovascular Research Center, as well as shadowing a Hematology/Oncology doctor at The Miriam Hospital’s Fain Cancer Center.

“At CVRC, I have been working in the Koren Lab where they are interested in the pathogenesis of cardiac arrhythmias, especially as it pertains to sudden cardiac death. My day-to-day consists of assisting with research surgeries, caring for post-op animals and attending research conferences.

“One day a week, I have been shadowing a doctor during his clinic hours at the cancer center. This has also been a rewarding experience as I have been able to see how a veteran and industry leader cares for his patients.

“Looking forward to some spring skiing in Vermont!”
