Beautiful Beach With Volcanic Rock in Iceland

            This dream beach is located near Búðir in the south of the Snæfellsness peninsula in Iceland. Such yellow sand beaches (olivin sand) are a rarity in Iceland. Here you are on the south-eastern edge of the Búðahraun lava field, which flowed out of the 88-meter-high Búðaklettur crater about 5000 to 8000 years ago. In 1977 the Búðahraun lava field became a nature reserve because of its rich vegetation. 11 of 16 known fern species in Iceland can be found here.
