Golden Eagle (Explore) - a photo on Flickriver

            We usually get a few Goldens in this area every winter, but actually seeing them is another story.  Goldens are gradually becoming more common in this part of the US, but they are still somewhat elusive and seeing one is usually just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.  I couldn't believe my luck when this Golden flew overhead and gave me some awesome photo ops.  I was shaking from excitement when I fired off the shots, so they are not quite as sharp as they could be but I'm still pretty happy with them.
