L'Obélisque de la Bataille d'Ivry à Epieds

            Le monument se dresse tout au bout d'une longue allée de  vieux tilleuls. Il commémore l'éclatante victoire d'Henri IV à la bataille d'Ivry le 14 mars 1590 contre les ligueurs catholiques commandés par le duc de Mayenne. C'est à cette occasion qu'il aurait lancé : "Ralliez-vous à mon panache blanc !".

The monument stands at the end of a long avenue of old lime trees. It commemorates the resounding victory of Henri IV at the Battle of Ivry on 14 March 1590 against the Catholic Leaguers commanded by the Duke of Mayenne. It was on this occasion that he is said to have shouted: "Rally to my white plume!"
