An endangered slender twinner in wet sclerophyll forest, warm temperate rainforest and on the margins of Subtropical rainforest north from Werikimbe National Park west of Kempsey.

The late Barry Ralley had previously found this species as far south as Pacific Palms, south of Forster, and if this image is correctly ID I've recently located it here at Homestead Estate on a property recently purchased by one of my sons.
The late Anders Bofelt claimed to have recorded finding what he thought was Tylphora woolsii at Darkes`Forest above the Illawarra escarpment and the species was originally known from the Cumberland Plains west of Sydney. It has with rampant housing development in western Sydney since the end of WW2 disappeared from that area.

From January to April, small, purple-red flowers are apparent on zigzagging branched stalks growing from the leaf junctions. They are followed by narrow seed-capsules 5–8 cm long, which split to release many seeds, each of which has a tuft of silky hair (Harden, 1992; DECC NSW, 2005).
