37240, Manchester Piccadilly (GB), 19/03/2021

            Nearing the end of its first stint back working trains on the mainline in approaching 20 years, 37240 stands at Manchester Piccadilly after arriving from Buxton with 1Q45 Crewe CS-Derby RTC. 97304 was on the other end of the formation.

Since departing from Crewe at 2049 the train visited the Mid Cheshire line and Buxton and would reverse here before revisiting Crewe but this time via Wilmslow, back to Stockport then to Chinley, back to Hazel Grove then to Sheffield (twice) and onward to Derby.

The loco has been repainted into Transrail livery by Boden Rail as part of a return to main line service from preservation. When was the last Transrail 37 in Picc before 240 this week...answers on a postcard!
