The New Yankee Stadium - May 7, 2009 - Yankees vs. Rays from Right Field

            I took this short video during my first visit to the new Yankee Stadium on May 7, 2009 during a 8-6 Yankee loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.  I had a seat in Suite 2 on H&R Suite Level in Right Field.

Some first impressions of the new Yankee Stadium:
The new stadium is surely beautiful but it just does not feel the same as the old Stadium across the street.  Part of it may have been that I was sitting in a luxury box (something I had never done before) but the place felt more like a 5 star hotel or convention center than a real baseball stadium.  Sure, everything was nice but it just was not real.  There were less fans in the seats compounded by the huge number of concessions bringing people away from the field.  It just feels a bit sterile.  

The Yankees have to find some way to bring the life to the place.  I miss those old times when a Yankee would get a big hit and you could literally feel the place jumping.   That and all the history is missing right now.  Hopefully, the team can get a bit better and create some new memories at the new place and bring some life and authenticity to it.
