Victoria Pride 2022 - a photo on Flickriver

Victoria Pride 2022

            The 2022 Victoria Pride was a lackluster event; inhospitable fencing inside and out ruined disability access, and combined with heavy security and police presence was incongruous with the original intent of Pride; a riot for human rights.

There was far less color and celebration, it appeared more as a sales event for merchants, the event was packed with sales and political party booths like a midway at a state fair.

Previous years, the disabled, cyclists and parents with children could freely access the event without lineups, fencing and security. Too much space was dedicated to fencing and bicycle parking ...not enough room for the disabled and and free movement.

My mobility aid was rudely obstructed and confronted by angry people and security guards (video soon come).
