The Cullasaja River flows from Highlands and into the Tennessee River in Franklin, NC. This was taken from one of the "pull-outs" on Hwy 64 (No hiking to get to this one) This is a favorite photographer's stop as well as swimmers that are brave enough to enter the cold mountain water. As cool as it was yesterday, there were several young people that were in the water. 

If you want to see what our mountains are really about, take Hwy 64 in Franklin and go to Highlands. You will see roads filled with curves, steep drop offs, cliffs, rivers, several water falls including Bridal Veil Falls and Dry falls. You can drive under Bridal Veil Falls and walk under Dry Falls making them favorites among our  tourists.

Yesterday was pretty gray and overcast so I framed my shots to cut out the gray sky.  Overcast days eliminate shadows and can work in our favor.

Remember, to get a shot requiring a slow shutter speed, your tripod is your best friend.
