Sigma (Byriah Loper) - a photo on Flickriver

This was a fun pattern to design and fold. It consumes a lot of paper, and I guess it relatively complicated, but I didn't find it difficult. I have no idea what to title this- it's not really a star, and although it can definitely be tessellated, it isn't here, so I wouldn't call it a tessellation. So I just gave it a general name. 
I'm currently in the process of learning Hellenistic Greek, just for fun,(weird, I know) XD hence the title.
On a positive note, this is the first time I have something good to say about Nicholas Terry Tissue Foil. Generally, I have found this paper to be expensive, and not particularly useful for anything. But I was looking for a paper that was translucent, but still curved nicely, and this worked well for that.
The base uses a 16x16 grid.

Folded out of a 12" uncut square of Nicholas Terry Tissue Foil. (and the final model is only ~3" tall.)
