I leave for East Africa in a few weeks, so I've been revisiting old photographs from my last two trips there. Some of these I may have already posted here but in black and white. I'm deleting those and posting the original color images. Other photographs are posted for the first time. 

I recall arriving at Lake Kivu after a long, sweaty walk, trying to stay in the shade. Seeing the lake was a relief, seeing the children bathing or practicing somersaults in the sand was wonderful. A little group followed me as I kept walking. occasionally we'd chat, occasionally we'd make a photograph. It was impossible to distinguish the street children from those there enjoying the afternoon with their families.
