Sunflower Fields Forever - a photo on Flickriver

            Pheasant Run Farm Sunflower Experience near Belle Plaine, Iowa. Taken at sunset. Sadly one week ago the owners had no choice but to close this field early for the season. It was completely destroyed after a derecho rolled through Iowa and several other midwestern states last Monday, packing up to 100 mph plus straight line wind gusts. The storm killed 3 people and caused extensive damage to millions of acres of crops and to several cities and communities. The city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa about 20 miles to the north of me was particularly hard hit. Recovery will be long for many. Power was out at my place for 4 days, but other than that I was fortunate and suffered minimal damage. Thanks for your views and comments and wishing everyone a nice week ahead.
