The Cracks of Time

            I like this shot... I know many of you won't... as technically its nothing special... I just love the shape and form of the sandstone patterns built up over years and the contrast of a clear deep routed crack right through them that would have occurred in one single sudden event in time. It reminds me that it takes a long time to create but things can be destroyed in a flash.

I've just spent an hour playing with 4 woodland images I took on Saturday morning... I then decided they are all terrible and hit the delete key. I was in a funny mood on Saturday morning... the rain was torrential... I was happy to be out... but my photography mojo technically was just not there... the forrest I was in had wonderfully interesting trees but they just did not make good compositions... and it was all just too green if that makes sense... it is difficult to see what I seen in the photographs as the greens just merged into a big green mess... I also think my use of a polariser has actually made it worse... it clears away the reflections but the greens where on drugs! Im putting it down to a learning experience that woodland photography is a bit like the sandstone... it takes time to build.
