Class 101 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 101693 is formed of two vehicles 51192 and 56352

            Class 101 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 101693 is formed of two vehicles M 51192 a Driving Motor Brake vehicle and M 56352 a Driving Trailer.
The class were designed to replace steam hauled trains on branch lines with low passenger numbers.

The class 101s were built by Metropolitan-Cammell in Birmingham, with the final numbers of this class being withdrawn from local services around Manchester in 2003.

101693 has been restored to British Railway green livery with yellow panel, as carried in the 1960s. The set is owned by the National Railway Museum and is currently on long term loan to the North Norfolk Railway.
