            No. 82 was one of 38 final tram replacement trolleybuses purchased by Wellington City Transport. With their Leyland-designed chassis assembled by Scammell at Watford, they were the last trolleybuses built by British United Traction (BUT). 19 of them (No's. 82-100) received bodies built by Metro-Cammell-Weymann (MCCW) of Birmingham. No. 82 was tested on the Walsall trolleybus system on the 25th November 1963 and the batch of trolleybuses were shipped to New Zealand from Liverpool.

No. 82 entered service on the 13th March 1964 with the registration number P476. 
In 1966, as part of a country - wide rationalisation, No. 82 received a new registration number EV 6757.
No. 82 was always one-man-operated and ran over the city's extensive trolleybus network with winding roads, steep hills and the city's five tunnels. A feature on Wellington's trolleybuses and that No. 82 EV 6757 being no exception, are the provision of ''open - lockers'' for the carriage of 'prams' or 'pushchairs'.

No. 82 was withdrawn in 1986 when new Volvo trolleybuses entered service. The trolleybus was then loaned to the late Ian Little's Trolleybus Museum at Foxton, a town in the Manawatu-Wanganui region of New Zealand. In 1999 No. 82 passed into the care of the Omnibus Society of New Zealand Inc. (OSNZ) and then moved into storage at the Wellington Tramway Museum; ownership passing over to the OSNZ some years later.

Following, intermittent discussions with the Omnibus Society of New Zealand. Over a period of time, and donations from Trolleybus Museum members, No. 82 was sold to The The Trolleybus Museum for just NZ$10. The trolleybus left Wellington, New Zealand for the United Kingdom on the 20th October 2012, arriving at the Port of Felixstowe, Suffolk on the 18th December 2012.
