Perfect Morning

The press launch for the 38th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta took place on Durham Down last week. The actual Fiesta has become a large scale event with enormous crowds fenced off from balloonists. But this press launch gave a flavour of how it used to be with a few visitors walking among the balloonists as they set up in a flurry of activity. Once they've achieved lift off, the calm as they float away is magical. On this occasion they drifted south east across the city into the sun. I followed them on foot until my shoes were soaked through from the morning dew and tried to line up the sun, balloons and some foreground interest. This was the result.
I imagine a few more balloon pics will feature in my feed this month. Sorry!
