            Sandhill cranes are known for their courtship dances. They are tall, elegant birds. Yet when they come in for a landing, they slow themselves by putting their legs down, way before they reach the ground (above treetop height). They end up looking like they are falling out of the air, or maybe walking on the clouds. It doesn't look as graceful as their extended flight.
