OTVR 3900 Moorhead 26 Dec 05 - a photo on Flickriver

            OTVR 3900 runs east over the Red River of the North out of Fargo, ND and into Moorhead, MN on the day after Christmas 2005.  This duo had just dropped a string of coal empties for the BNSF to take back to the mine.

While my notes on the Otter Tail Valley Railroad from 2007 said they had a daily freight interchange in the Fargo Yard, I just never saw them that much in the Fargo-Moorhead area.  I think I can count the sightings on one hand, actually!  I always wanted to catch one of their coal trains in the area, but this was the closest I came...just the power!

I never spent much effort to chase or learn about either the Otter Tail Valley or Red River Valley & Western, but they're there in addition to the large volume of BNSF trains on the northern transcon...
