Illinois: Chicago: Union Station - a photo on Flickriver

            This view emphasizes the waiting room.  The actual boarding area is in the basement of the building to the right.  This was originally the statin for the Pennsylvania and the Burlington among other tenants.  Today it is "The heart of Amtrak" and also the location of some of Chicago's Metra services.  It has recently been announced that the City of Chicago is about to undertake a remodeling.  Hopefully this will include a larger waiting room for coach passengers.
