▶ Candler Lake —formed by the South Fork Peachtree Creek on the grounds of Emory University— is dammed on its northernmost end, creating a spillway for a former powerhouse tower that once provided electricity for the Lullwater House estate, a 1926 Tudor mansion built with stone quarried on-site for Walter Candler, a son of Coca-Cola’s founder, and now the official residence ot the president of Emory University. The octagonal tower comprises two stories of the same stone, open at its top.
