In late winter and early spring, tiny, red diamorpha succulents are adorned with white blossoms.

▶ "North Georgia monadnocks [isolated rocky mountains caused by erosion of surrounding land] roll out the red carpet in April. Once each year, diamorpha smallii —a rare plant endemic to the southeast United States— turns an eye-catching red before donning pure white flowers. Although it is only a couple of inches tall, the plant blankets Arabia Mountain's shallow solution pit pools with crimson."
