Remnants from Another Time - a photo on Flickriver

            Icebergs calved off a southern finger of the Hielo Sur are bathed in evening light as they float in the relatively calm waters of Lago Dickson, on the north side of Torres del Paine National Park. While the southern part of the Park has no limit on the number of visitors per day, only 80 people per day are allowed through into the northern section. This was the kind of solitude I had been hoping for, and after a 13 mile shuffle from the previous night's camp, the arrival at Campo Dickson was quite the sight. It was probably one of the top most picturesque campsites I've had the privilege to pitch a tent in. Behind the wall of cloud to the right lurks the Hielo Sur, which seemed to cloak itself in ever denser cloud as the daylight waned. I planned to get up early the next morning to see whether time might unveil its mysterious face.
