WA State Highway 104; Hood Canal Bridge.

            Our daily connection between Kitsap County and the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. The bridge is a floating/engineering wonder. Some key functions include:

Floating in saltwater with extreme tidal changes.
Takes winter windstorms on broadside.
Waves are known to wash across the elevated roadway, 
Opens in mid-span allowing boat and ship passage (really).
Seals, fish and whales pass by the structure seasonally
