Cincinnati Southern Rwy Tennessee River Lift Bridge (Chattanooga, Tennessee)

            Historic vertical lift railroad bridge over the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The main span is a 301-ft polygonal Warren through truss lift span.  The bridge was constructed 1919 to 1920 by the American Bridge Company to replace an 1880s swing bridge.  

The bridge is located just below TVA’s Chickamauga Dam.  It was built by the Cincinnati Southern Railway.  It is now leased to the Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific Rwy (CNO&TP), a subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Rwy.  Also known as the Tenbridge.
