Farewell, my sweet princess... - a photo on Flickriver

            Yesterday was a very sad and difficult day for me.  This crape myrtle bloom is in memory of "Tonka", my sweet old outside cat, who I found passed away in the backyard yesterday morning.  Hopefully, she didn't suffer and just went to sleep.  I will definitely miss her meowing for her breakfast at the patio door every morning and rubbing on me (& the dogs, who she adored) when we were outside...

My animals are my kids and even though a) she was almost 17 or 18 years old and b) I have been trying to prepare myself for this day, it just breaks my heart...  

Rest in peace dear sweet Tonka, my pretty princess.  The boys and I will miss you...
