Appenzeller Bärli-Biber at the Zürich Hauptbahnhof (Zürich, Switzerland)

Zürich Hauptbahnhof (Zürich Main Station or Zürich Central Station, often shortened to Zürich HB) is the largest railway station in Switzerland and one of the busiest in Europe.

The edifice was built in 1871 using the designs of architect Jakob Friedrich Wanner. Its main entrance features a triumphal arch facing the end of the then newly built Bahnhofstrasse. In front of the arch stands a monument to the railway pioneer Alfred Escher. The magnificent sandstone Neo-Renaissance building features richly decorated lobbies and atriums, restaurants and halls.

The main atrium of the interior is home to artist Niki de Saint Phalle's piece L'Ange Protecteur ("Guardian Angel") completed in 1997.
