Pacific Sea Nettles (Jelly fish) - a photo on Flickriver

            Today was the first day I have ever seen Jellyfish.  We went to the Akron Zoo and found a wonderful exhibit.   The bell diameter of the Pacific Sea Nettle is  up to 3 feet. The length of the arms is 2 to 15 feet.  The pulse rate is 25 - 30 pulses per minute.  

The range of the Pacific Sea Nettle is the coastal waters off Alaska to California, Japan, Kamchatka, the Aleutian Islands and the Bering Sea.

My husband used to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to watch the jellies.  Now I know why.  They are fascinating. Calming. 

I will also add that these were the easiest to photograph of the jellies on exhibit. 

I cannot wait to take my granddaughter to see the jellies at the Akron Zoo.  Since the first zoo trip, she has been fascinated with the aquariums.  I know she'll love these!
