Father and mother and daughter - a photo on Flickriver

            Portrait of a family of three, taken in 1910 (the date is stamped on the photo in the lower right corner), in either Mjölby or Medevi by the photographer Th. Matsson. 

If the photo was taken in Medevi, the family might not have been local - that was a popular spa, and the oldest in the Nordic countries (where you not only drank water from a special well for health benefits but also could participate in the 'porrige walk' [grötlunken] where people finished the day with a healthy supper of porrige with prunes and afterwards you took a couple of kilometers long walk to digest it, accompanied by a marching band). But you visited places like these not just for your health but also as recreation and to have a holiday. It would not be far-fetched for a family then to commemorate that with going to the photographer.
