Waiting in Winter's Prison - a photo on Flickriver

            I like pansies. They look so delicate but are so hardy and cold-resistant. 

I was amused to see this planter full of them, 
behind some sturdy fence bars.
I decided that it looked as if they were 
"Waiting in Winter's Prison." 

In fact, it is going to be long sentence from a flower's perspective. 
It was really early winter -- January 3, 2024 --. 
two and one-half months until spring! 
Oh my.
