Liverpool firsts:

John Brodie oversaw construction of the World’s First Ring Road and the UK’s first intercity highway.

He was also involved in the Queensway Tunnel linking Liverpool  to Birkenhead, which was described as the 8th wonder of the world at the time, and held the title for the longest sub aqueous tunnel for 24 years.  

John also designed the first goal net, which was used at Everton football ground.
