Just back from a trip up to Durham and the Northumberland Coast but before I post any from this trip I've some more photos of the three Caruso St. John designed spiral stairs in the Newport Street Gallery to upload.

Having photographed these before this time I was keen to find some different, less obvious compositions. This is a high key mono re-working of my previous upload, I've also cropped it to a square format to make it more abstract.

From Wikipedia : "In 2010, Hirst was among the unsuccessful bidders to take over the Magazine Building, a 19th-century structure in Kensington Gardens, which reopened in 2013 as the Serpentine Sackler Gallery after its conversion by Zaha Hadid. In March 2012, he outlined plans to open a gallery in Vauxhall, London specifically designed to exhibit his personal collection, which includes five pieces by Francis Bacon. Located in a former theater carpentry and scenery production workshops redesigned by Caruso St John, the space runs the length of Newport Street in Vauxhall and will include six galleries, office space and a restaurant. It is due to open in October 2015.

Commenting on his collection, Hirst has said "As a human being, as you go through life, you just do collect. It was that sort of entropic collecting that I found myself interested in, just amassing stuff while you’re alive.""
