Just a Grouse! [in Explore] - a photo on Flickriver

            This handsome Red Grouse sat up nicely this afternoon. I always think "it's just a Grouse!" but they're very beautiful and entertaining to watch. These birds are bred for the shoot, quite barbaric in my opinion. I have nothing against hunting for survival but doing it for pleasure boils my blood! I went ouit searching for Golden Plover but though I heard them, none were kind enough to make an appearance, the birds are very shy but I see them most often when they have unruly young who wander closer to hopeful photographers,
I'm surprised but delighted to find this in Explore this morning! Thank you for just looking, your kind comments and favourites will make this a special day for me.
