Taking fire

            There's a lot going on in this photo. Moments before this picture was taken, sergeant Dickey and myself were chatting it up, quoting the movie Step Brothers. Then all hell breaks lose. Taliban fire breaks out, engaging members not far from us. Then shots start coming right over our head. My first instict was to go for my rifle, but I remembered what I was there for -- capturing moments and telling stories. Sergeant Dickey raised his radio and starting talking to aircraft within seconds of the fire breaking out. Everyone made it home with no injuries. A night I will never forget.
