Corpach, near Fort William - a photo on Flickriver

            One from last Autumn's visit to the Scottish Highland's.
Up ahead, the very last loch gate on the Caledonian Canal, leading into Loch Linnhe at Corpach, near Fort William.
The 60 mile long route, which was constructed in the early nineteenth century by Scottish engineer Thomas Telford, connects Inverness on the east coast of Scotland with the west coast via the geological fault that forms the Great Glen.
Around a third of the length is man-made, the rest being formed by Loch Dochfour, Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy.
