'Drift Wood' - a photo on Flickriver

'Drift Wood'

My new camera arrived the other day so went to North Sands in Hartlepool this morning to photograph the pier left over from the old Steetley Magnesite. The fog rolled in on my walk along the beach then cleared soon after I got set up. Again there wasn't any colour in the sky so I knew the photo would end up B&W. There was an old branch that had washed up which i dragged out of the sea to add some foreground interest (yes I got wet feet). Went for a long exposure with the Big Stopper. I wanted more water around the drift wood but even though it was quit large. the sea kept moving it which meant i had to pull it further away from the tide.
