Dockside Sunrise

            One of the many things I love about Maine is when you least expect a photo op, one appears and begs to be photographed. 

On our last trip to Portland last year we found this little wharf and have wanted to photograph it at sunrise. A few weeks ago when we were in Maine and the conditions were right we went to this wharf to get our shots. I was able to capture a really nice sunrise shooting down the wharf, and I waited to the sunrise colors faded and the sky took on this darker blue tone. I waited for the darker blue sky because I think it helped to tell the story a little better. The forecast shortly after sunrise called for rain the rest of the day and heavy rains at times. You can see the darker rain clouds and the unstable cloud formation in the distant clouds.
