Blue Glacier - a photo on Flickriver

Blue Glacier

            I had hoped to take some good panoramic shots of the Blue Glacier, which is a giant, curving glacier that sweeps around the northern side of the summit of Mount Olympus. Unfortunately, I had to gain a fair amount of elevation from where I started the day in order to get to this spot, and by the time of day that I finally arrived the light was all wrong for such a photo. However, I was lucky enough to have that entire portion of the mountain all to myself. The top half here is the face of the dome of the mountain, and the bottom half a portion of the glacier. Blue Glacier on Mount Olympus, Olympic National Park.
