Olympic spirit - Canadian style! - a photo on Flickriver

This was some of the Canadian patriotism I captured during the Olympic Torch Relay at the Tsleil Waututh First Nations' celebration at Cates Park, (also known as Whey-Ah-Whichen which means 'faces the wind'.) in North Vancouver early yesterday morning.

Whilst waiting for the torch to arrive, traditional music and dancing entertained the crowd, creating an atmosphere of Olympic spirit and excitement. The torch then arrived at the beach by canoe. A very moving ceremony followed with a blessing of the Torch from the Chief.
