Diving Million Dollar Point - a photo on Flickriver

            At the end of WWII the US Forces pushed an estimated 1,000,000USD worth of construction equipment and supplies into the ocean at what is now called Million Dollar Point on the island of Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu (former New Hebrides).  The equipment and materials were offered to the local condominium government (French/English) for 10 cents on the dollar.  When the government refused the equipment was deep sixed.  I guess that is one way of doing it.  Either way it makes for one of the world's most unusual dive sites.  I dived the site as a guide for a year and counted 27 bulldozers amongst the refuge and that is certainly not all of them,
