20190117 Book Club

            This month's selection was The Children Act by Ian McEwan. The Children Act is a British law "to ensure children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted." This book is the story of a judge in Family court who has to decide whether a 17-year old should be given blood transfusions as treatment for his leukemia over the objection of his parents who are Jehovah's Witnesses (their religion condemns blood transfusions). Things happen, but not very engaging things,  then the story ends. I didn't like the book but it was easy and fast to read.
