The Straggler

            A goose family paddling along, with one straggling gosling bringing up the rear.  Taken at Hidden Pond Nature Center.  (Canada Goose, Branta canadensis)

Update: Sadly, the day after this image was taken, one of the goslings went missing - a testiment to the dangers faced by young animals in the wild.  While escape to the water can help deter threats from land preditors, snapping turtles in the pond are a menace to the youngsters as well.
