Emerging Out of the Primordial Soup - a photo on Flickriver

            I was watching the two turtles on the left sunning themselves on a log, when the other two turtles emerged covered in algae to join them.  The title immediately came to mind, as  it seemed the two new turtles were springing to life from the nothingness that was the algae covered pond water.  Eastern Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta picta).  Taken at Hidden Pond Nature Center in Springfield, VA.
