Pullip Eye Chips -- Tips, please?! - a photo on Flickriver

            Sooo...
I attempted to change Cookie's eye chips. I got the eyemech out fine, but it's actually getting the chips out that's the hardest (as expected). I used a Phillips-Head screwdriver to try to push out the chips, but to be honest, I'm pretty scared. I'm scared to push to hard because I might break the eyemech! Or what if I break a chip and can't get the other chips in? Then I'm screwed! I know I got the right size from CoolCat and everything, but what if they just won't stay in?

So, I'd love to know-- Does anyone have any tips on making it easier to get the eye chips out? Maybe with less of a chance of breaking the eyemech/eye chips?
Also, I was wondering if anyone knows this; You now the paper backing that's on the laser paper from CoolCat? Would it be okay to just used that for a backing in the eye chip? Will it still stay in an eyemech? Or do I need something thinner? Because I like the way the plain white makes the chips look a lot more than the actual laser paper.
